Why you're on this page

The bill that keeps growing

Hey. If you typed "Jobber alternative" into Google, one of two things probably happened this month.

Either the price went up again, or you went to turn on a feature you needed and found out it's another add-on. Automated reminders. Review requests. The follow-up texts. Each one is a separate line, and each new tech is another line under that.

I'm Derek. I build software for trades businesses, and FieldForge is the one I built for exactly your size of crew: the owner who still runs calls, has two to twenty people, and does the office work at 9pm. You don't need enterprise. You need every job on one screen, the money coming in on time, and a software bill that reads the same every month.

So there is one price per plan, and no tool is sold separately on top of it. Pick Pro and the texting, the reminders, the review requests, online payments, the customer portal and the technician view your guys open on their phone with nothing to install are all in the $149. Nothing bolted on later. Nothing to unlock.

The math is below. Then the honest list of what we don't have, because you should know that too.

About those Jobber numbers: they come from Jobber's public pricing page as of September 2026, month-to-month rates, and vendors change pricing often, so check their page today before you decide. Prepay a year and Connect drops to $99, so the same two lines come to $198 before a tech. Put seven people on Connect with the Marketing Suite and it's $139 + six users at $29 + $99, about $412/mo. We left Jobber's AI Receptionist out of the math on purpose: we don't sell one, so we're not charging them for it. FieldForge's prices are the ones we control, and they're the same on this page, on my-fieldforge.com, and on your invoice.

Line by line

What's an add-on there, and what's in the price here

On Jobber

As of September 2026, billed monthly
  • $99Automated reminders, review requests and follow-ups are the Marketing Suite add-on, $99/mo on top of your plan.
  • $29Each additional user is $29/mo. A crew of seven on the one-user plan is six more lines on the bill.
  • $299+Team plans (Grow, 5 users) start at $299/mo month to month and climb from there, before the add-on above.
  • n/aThe AI Receptionist is a $29/mo add-on. It isn't in our math because we don't sell one.

On FieldForge Pro

$149/mo, 7 users included
  • Reminders, on-my-way texts, 2-way texting and review requests are in the plan. There is no marketing add-on to buy.
  • Online booking and the customer portal let customers request work, approve quotes and pay without calling you.
  • Seven users come with it. Past that, $15/mo each, and no feature is gated behind a seat count.
  • Dispatch board, recurring jobs, time tracking, reporting and job costing are in Pro. Not a tier above it.
What changes on Monday

What the flat price actually buys you

๐Ÿ“…

Every job and every tech on one screen

Stop making the 7am "did you get the Oak Street job?" phone call. The calendar and dispatch board show who's where, all day.

๐Ÿงพ

Get paid the day the job's done

The invoice builds itself from the finished job, line items and photos already on it. No reconstructing the Miller job from memory three days later.

๐Ÿ“ฑ

Your techs will actually use it

Nothing to download from an app store. They open a link on their phone, see their day, tap to update status and add photos.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

Customers stop calling to ask where you are

Reminders, on-my-way texts and two-way texting go out from the job, and they're in the price, not a $99 add-on.

๐Ÿ“ท

Win the "you never fixed that" argument

Before-and-after photos and notes save to the job record with a timestamp, instead of dying in someone's camera roll.

๐Ÿ”’

A software bill that reads the same every month

One flat line. No surprise add-on, no per-feature upsell, no email announcing the thing you rely on now costs extra.

What Jobber has that we don't

I'd rather you find this out here than two weeks into a trial. FieldForge is built for the small crew, and a few things on Jobber's list are not on ours:

  • No AI receptionist. We don't sell one. Your calls still ring to you or your office.
  • No GPS truck tracking. You see each job's status and who's assigned, not a dot on a map.
  • A price book, not full inventory. Line items and pricing, yes. Stock counts, no.

If any of those is a must-have, FieldForge isn't the right fit, and I'd tell you the same on a call. If what you actually want is the scheduling, the texting, the invoicing and the payments without the ladder, keep reading.

Questions crews ask before switching

Straight answers

Is FieldForge cheaper than Jobber?

For a crew that wants reminders, texting and review requests, usually yes. As of September 2026, Jobber sells those as a $99/mo Marketing Suite add-on on top of the plan, plus $29/mo for each extra user. FieldForge Pro is $149/mo flat with 7 users and those tools already in it. Run your own numbers with the ladder above and Jobber's current pricing page.

Does the price go up when I add a tech?

Only past what your plan includes. Starter comes with 2 users, Pro with 7, Business with 20. Extra users are $15/mo on Starter and Pro, $12/mo on Business. No feature is locked behind a seat count.

Will my techs use it?

That's the whole reason there is nothing to install. They open a link on their phone, see their jobs for the day, tap to update status or add a photo. No app store, no download, no login they'll forget.

How long does it take to get set up?

Add your clients, create a job, assign a tech. That's the core loop, and it takes minutes, not a six-week onboarding. Most crews are running real jobs the same day. Business plans include dedicated onboarding if you want a hand.

What happens after the 7-day trial?

You pick a plan and add a card. If you don't, your account pauses. We don't delete your jobs, clients or invoices. Come back whenever.

Can I switch mid-season?

Yes, and the trial doesn't need a card, so you can run FieldForge next to what you have now and move over when it's clearly working. The only thing waiting costs is another month of the old bill.

What does Jobber have that FieldForge doesn't?

No AI receptionist, no GPS truck tracking, and a price book rather than full inventory management. If any of those is a must-have, FieldForge isn't the right fit. The full list is in the section above.

What about Housecall Pro?

Same pattern, different logo. As of September 2026 their Basic plan is $79/mo month to month for one user only, the add-ons (CSR AI, Pipeline, Campaigns, Voice and more) are each sold separately, and extra users on their top plan are $35/mo each. If the sticker looks small and the real bill doesn't, that's the ladder again.

One price. No add-on ladder.

Start the 7-day trial, no card, and schedule your first real job before your coffee's cold. If it isn't easier than what you have, walk away and you've lost nothing.
